What is Machine Learning (ML)?
Machine Learning is a branch of Artificial Intelligence that focuses on building technology that performs tasks or functions without being explicitly programmed on what to do, but by relying on data it receives, to improve or perform efficiently.
What is an ML Study Jam?
ML Study Jam is a learning opportunity that takes 4 weeks of time leveraging Kaggle Courses. It includes hands-on assignments, tutoring, tech talks, and group discussions. This is an excellent opportunity for members of the GDSC Uniuyo community together to learn something online.
About GDSC Uniuyo ML Study Jam
GDSC Uniuyo will be organizing a virtual onboarding session to familiarize ourselves with ML and its benefits, We'll also anchor tutorials on some of the important tools used in machine learning, and there will be quizzes and Kaggle Certification for those who complete their challenge. This study jam will run from the 31st of October, 2022 to the 25th of November, 2022.
How to participate
- Join the ML/ Crowdsource WhatsApp group
- Go through all the registration requirements (Registering as a member on the form and getting the crowdsource app)
- Participate in challenges and competitions
- Attend meetings and tutorial sessions.
Introducing GDSC Uniuyo Crowdsource Community
The Crowdsource community is made up of people from different backgrounds who share a common goal of improving Google AI and making it easily accessible to as many people as possible.
To be part of the community, no prior knowledge of AI/ ML is required. For the first time ever Students from Uniuyo and Other Colleges in Akwa Ibom can participate and get huge benefits.
Requirements
- All community members must be above 18, before joining.
- Members are encouraged to have devices that can be used to surf the internet.
- Members must have a Google email address to be able to register for the program.
How to participate
- Fill out the registration form
- Join the WhatsApp Group
- Get the App
- Read the Guidelines
- Be registered on the GDSC Uniuyo platform
Registration
- Get the Crowdsource App Here
- Open the app then head to the Crowdsource setting.
- Tap on “Invite code”
- In the “Invite code” tab, enter the code 9B4468
- If you are not using an android device, the link will take you to a web page, where you can follow steps 2 – 4
